Wapta Falls, Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Alberta, CA

Wapta Falls is a nice easy going hike that takes you to a picturesque set of falls in Yoho. As usual, it’s moderate, just under 5 km roundtrip and there is a little decline at the end. There is a fence along the cliff’s steep edge as you get closer to the falls which makes this a nice child/dog friendly hike. The other interesting thing about this hike is that once you reach the base of the falls there is a mound that kind of blocks the view of the falls but it allows you to get right up close and catch the mist on a hot day. We’ve done this hike a couple times in the middle of the summer and it’s prone to mud so it’s not ideal to visit during the shoulder seasons but that doesn’t mean I won’t be back over and over. This is a great spot to visit if you’re staying at Emerald Lake Lodge or camping at the reservable Kicking Horse Campground or one of the first come first served sites close by. Check out the details of this hike on All Trails and on my Tik Tok.
