This is another one of my favourite high reward low effort trails in Jasper. The hardest part is finding a safe spot to park in order to access the trail head that lives just below the entrance to Marmot Basin. Snowshoes are definitely required for accessing the trail during the winter as there is a ton of snow fall on the hill as one would expect. After a short trek through the alpine you’re greeted with breathtaking views of the town of Jasper. This is another trail that while short, it is not crawling with people and wildlife is a very real possibility. Bear spray, bear bells are a good idea. Caution with children on this trail should also be exercised due to the cliff edge at then end. This is a favourite of mine for winter and for a summer sunset to finish off a perfect day in the mountains.
The Wapiti Campground and Whistlers Campground are the closest accommodations to this area, booking and details found in the link.
Hotel accommodations close by include the lovely Mount Robson Inn which features one of the cutest cafes in town.
